It was a Sunday afternoon. Stuck in the Atlanta airport on a long layover, nothing better to do, I filled out a form to join Delta's frequent flyer program. I figured if I kept flying the way I had been for the past couple of years that I might eventually get a free ticket to somewhere. I checked back a few months later only to discover that I had since earned sixteen free tickets. Sixteen! Taken back by all the possibilities, I checked to see how far, distance-wise, I could get on one domestic ticket. The answer was Fairbanks, Alaska. That was how it started. We have since been to Alaska four times and plan on going back again.
