When the weather outside turns frightening - escape to warmer climes! In what's become a Christmas gift to just the two of us, we treat ourselves to getaway cruises. This trip, seven days and seven nights, took us from sunny Miami to Samana in the Dominican Republic, then the US and British Virgin Islands (St. Thomas and Tortola respectively) and finally the Bahamas. We hope to take another cruise on this particular ship again - from Miami to Los Angeles via the Panama Canal. Until then, we'll find other fun places to visit.
As innocent and cuddly as they may appear, some children (especially in urban settings) in some third-world countries are professional pickpockets. Be mindful of them, especially in crowds.
